Software Design
As a self confessed geek it's not hard to imagine that I find computer programming interesting but it is not something I have ever really done on a system basis.True I throw ASP web applications and simple Flash apps around on a daily basis but actually creating a desktop application is something I have never done - UNTIL NOW!
This is the first application I have ever written (since the Vbasic Amiga days). Its a simply count down timer dashbaord widget written using Dashcode on my beloved MacBook Pro. Sorry Windoze boys this is Mac only.

System Requirements:
Apple Mac running OSX 10.4.3 or higher (Fully Snow Leopard Compatible)
Internet Connection for Calendar database
Install Instructions:
1. Download the files by clicking on the image above
2. Unstuff the zip file
3. Double click the installer icon
4. OSX should automatically add the application to your Dashboard
Uninstall Instructions:
1. Enter Dashboard and Click on the + button (bottom left corner)
2. Click the Manage Widgets icon
3. Click the red icon next to the Days Til Christmas App in the list
Technical Notes:
This application is linked to an online calendar (hence the need for an Internet connection)
When the timer reaches Christmas Day it should remain on Zero for the entire day. Once Boxing day starts the countdown should begin again.
